Hello, I am Stephanie, The Cake Lady.
I live and work in the Charente region of South West France.
Having been an enthusiastic cook from childhood, I began my career proper in 1992, with a café-restaurant, producing vegetarian meals and a large range of cakes.
From this I developed a catering business, also going on to sell French style patisserie from a vintage French van at Farmers’ markets in Kent and Sussex and supplying cakes to local cafés.
My other passion being art, it seemed a natural progression to combine the two, producing Wedding and Celebration cakes which I was being asked for more and more and was approached by a local hotel to be their exclusive supplier. I developed delicious special diet recipes, including gluten free, dairy free and vegan.
These cakes became an increasingly important part of my work and, since moving to France, I have concentrated mainly in that area although I still offer catering and personal chef services for small events.
