All of my designs are created uniquely for each client,
and I never copy anyone else’s work or, for example, another client’s wedding cake.
Once I have been approached by a client for a cake, ideally I like to have the opportunity to talk with them and discuss any ideas they might have, the style and “feel” of their celebration, colour schemes, anything, really that will help me to create an individual design that reflects their personality.
Often, it is the tiny details, such as a miniature vintage stamp or the intricate, hand-made, sugar flowers, as seen on all the cakes in the Gallery, that really make it truly personal and I love to be able to include those special touches.
If meeting in person, this is also an ideal opportunity (excuse?) to eat lots of cake so they can choose what they would like! It is important to discuss budget at this point.
Because each cake is unique, it is not possible to give a blanket quote before some level of consultation but I always endeavour to work within a client’s price range, although this may not always be possible where something particularly elaborate is desired.
Armed with as much information as possible, I will then produce up to three hand-drawn designs for them to consider.
I offer a range of delicious flavours, and all my cakes are made using high quality ingredients including free range eggs from my own chickens. All fruit conserves used in the fillings are home-made.
